TALG Hosts its Office Open House
September 19, 2024
At long last, TALG opened its finished offices to friends and family on September 19. It was a rousing success and a lot of fun.
The event had a distinctive “60s in Dallas” theme with an exhibit of the personal file of Phil Burleson Sr.’s ultimately successful representation of Jack Ruby (Phil Sr was the only lawyer on the Ruby defense team from start to finish and he was lead counsel when Ruby’s conviction was overturned on appeal).
Also, all guests received a copy of The King of Diamond autographed by author Rena Pedersen (which is a supercool book about a rash of unsolved cat burglary jewelry heists of members of the Dallas ultra elite during the 60s)—here is a link to a 1975 D Magazine article on Who is the King of Diamonds; an interesting cliff notes version of the story: Who Was the King of Diamonds? – D Magazine.
And, with some other interesting legal memorabilia on display, the large common area has a museum feel, which visitors are welcome to explore.
